Globberry’s innovations gave customer the resources
to successfully build efficient Telco Cloud operations.

While telecom operators are moving into the T-Cloud domain, many aspects of planning and operations remain uncharted territory.

Globberry, together with NEC, built an operational “cockpit” for monitoring, planning, and decision-making.

Customer

Large Middle Eastern telecom group that provides innovative solutions and services to millions of subscribers across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

Managed Service Partner

NEC is a leading equipment manufacturer and system integrator with a large footprint, unique offerings, and a vision for the future of the carrier cloud. As the cloud business partner to many telcos, NEC helps carriers to build their own carrier cloud — a carrier-centric platform featuring services, solutions, and support — allowing customers to acquire new value chains and develop new revenue streams.

Challenges

1

Lack of consolidated view of NFV infrastructure state

At the request of our partner, NEC — which provided telco cloud-managed service contract for the customer — Globberry installed its NFV Infrastructure Management product, helping T-Cloud team scale effectively and achieve operational excellence.

The Globberry team quickly delivered a fully customized, integrated solution — with only two months between launching the project and the first production drop.. After conducting multiple UI-review workshops, , the timely delivery of the final product satisfied every project stakeholder.

Solution

NFVI Manager provides a holistic view of the customer’s SDN-supporting infrastructure. Integrated with key T-Cloud management tools such as VNFM, VIM, monitoring, and provisioning platforms, it serves as a "single point of truth" — with accurate,up-to-date NFV infrastructure presentation.

The NFVI Dashboard is the “single pane of glass” — a consolidated view of resource allocation, utilization, and alarms presented through different facets, acting as the key element in informed decision-making and tracking progress.

Capacity Planning enables timely and proactive T-Cloud scaling by utilizing historical data and VNF design validation, and by generating suggestions on how to expand existing infrastructure to meet capacity demand of VNF vendors.

Results

NFVI resource utilization visibility for customer’s management and NEC teams

Single point of reference through the regular discovery of NFVI management systems and infrastructure

Simplified decision-making with data accuracy, business logic automation, and process standardization

Automated initiation of capacity expansion based on thresholds and utilization trends
